About The ship is HIKAWA MARU. She saw a better life before WWII.Launched in Yokohama, she made 238 transPacific luxury,troop,repatriation and emigration crossings between 1930-1965.Now moored permanently in the old home port. At present part museum and part restaurant.On my latest visit I found the seagulls resting in a row on the anchor chain.

I have a picture of this same mooring chain without a single gull--I much prefer yours! It is unusual to see so many gulls crowded so close together... and all facing the same way!

wow! what a great capture,, this really a very interesting photo, these details are not seen in the thumbnail. I like these birds on the chain, looks like they found a good resting place... nice composition with this line that really leads the eye to the ship as you look at the birds...
