Thanks Mary . . . he's definitely a gentleman's dog. While difficult to photograph his colors did come out quite well in this capture. Thanks for the kind comment.

I love his gentle look and 'curly' locks and how his little tag is hanging over the frame. Beautiful close-up showing his colours and details so well. Great shot. MAry

Nessa: No, I don't mind your asking. The vet does not say he's going blind, not that he's got perfect vision, mind you. The opacitiy seems more pronounced in this capture than it usually seems so I think it's possible the lighting has made it look worse. He can certainly see and get around well. Thanks for the comment.

Laura: He's, indeed, a beautiful dog . . . with a personality to match. He's been rescued from the pound and saved from the demise that awaited him there . . . taken and treated by the vet. While his eyes do reflect his age (as do his teeth) he is quite healthy and can see well even in his old age. Naturally, he's pampered pretty well, one of the few who's permitted to enter my bedroom . . . and usually only a few feet from my side.

Thanks Annemette . . . It is, indeed, an American Cocker Spaniel . . . although I adore the King Charles Cavalier Spaniels (or any spaniels) too. He has a great expression I have had some difficulty capturing due to the dark colors . . . especially if I try to pair him with a corgi (light color). It does seem like a zoo to me too, especially at feeding time!

Thanks 130 . . . I have always loved Cocker Spaniels . . . even though they are a lot of grooming. Sorry to hear about the cinnamon . . . These animals become family in a very short time.

That is a beautiful dog! The eyes have an odd tint, does he by chance have cataracts?

A cute portrait of your old - american cokerspaniel it must be? First I thought it was a King Charles cavalier spaniel due to the face. Very sweet expression.:-) I would love to see the photo with a brown background that matches the dog´s colours. I really enjoy your photos with all your wonderful animals, Doyle! It seems like you have an entire zoo:-) You´re right about the wood yesterday. It´s petrified mahognywood from Barbados! Best wishes, Annemette
