As Doyle and Dave point out, the rendering might be improved, but the subject and the moment are excllent. Such dignity these creatures seem to exude! It may be illusory, but--as you demonstrate in this portrait--it can be very intense. Fine work . . .

Now that's a fun capture Doc . . . I had a friend once who would enjoy shocking people by admitting that he would masticate in public. Those unfamiliar with the word would seem shocked. This shot has a great DOF and I'm curious where you took it at. Perhaps you could start listing extraneous comments in your "about" section prior to upload? The colors seem to be cool . . . perhaps even blue tinted. Of course, the subject is great.
