dear Jo, thanx for stopping by my portfolio and adding a comment. but thanx also for sharing such a great photo! wow, its magic! i dont know actually if it creates a feeling of fear or, in contrast with it, relax and softness. but maybe the right feeling transmitted is just that contrast. and i like it.
best regards

.D

Hi John,
I took a brief look through your portfolio it is very impressive. You have a wide variety of work across many genres. I liked this one as the moon is low on the horizon and your perspective has it next to the tree trunk. This is unique and interesting to view. I looked forward to viewing more of your work in the future.
All the best,
Chris

I've seen several multiple exposure moonshots. This combination is rather unusual and interesting. The roots in the dark area seemed a bit distracting in the beginning but when I looked at it a little longer it seemed like it added to the mood of the image. Was it a multiple exposure or a photoshop merging? I like it very much. Thanks for your comment on my photo. The slightly blown out area in the right perhaps became conspicuous after scanning. I bet it looked much nicer in print. It always does.

Jim

I used a very long lens (600mm) and 2 flashes which were controlled by my Canon speedlite transmitter - then I darkened the sky around the trunk to emphasise the form.

Umberto

Just a very long lens and flash - only manipulation was darkening the sky around the trunk to emphasise the form.
