Hi Arne, I think the posterisation adds hugely to the discomfort of being alone. Very powerful image, with a very strong atmosphere, mainly created during the post-processing: the noise, the crop, the nearly centered composition, (almost) everything is just slightly off in terms of what the general consensus is on "good" photography. And it's also exactly what makes this image as powerful as it is and the atmosphere of discomfort and isolation as strong.
