The trees and their reflections really do form neat circlular patterns. Good seeing to capture this especially with the beautifu colours of the setting sun. Lovely.

Iv've heard a lot of really good things about Rollei, especially the 600x series. I thought they get zeis lenses too along with a couple other makes.

The 4x5 sounds wild is it a lot different to work with shift and fall?

Congratulations on both !

That's like my Sinar 4x5 camera. I got it at this cool little shop in St. John's Oregon for a really good price, and the guy at the store spent like an hour and a half showing me how to use it.
But I find that the image quality of the hasselblad rivals large-format. Mostly because of the leaf-shutter... but also because the optics are amazing. Although I am sure you already know that.

I recently got a rolliechord MF camera... the image quality is still much better than 35mm because of the negatives... but the Rollei lense just doesn't compare to the Hasselblad.

I hope you are having fun with all your new gear, and I hope that your class/school is rewarding.

Early October, The store that I go to a lot made a mistake in the pricing, but they honored their price. It's my first new camera, even got to fill out the warrantee card. :-)

I had it for a bit, and saved for a lens. The scanner was the tough part though. I sold my Leica 28-mm rom lens and saved some more for the scanner. I was lucky in going back home to MA, that their was this guy in Randolph MA who knows lots about hasselblad 's. His name is David Odessa. He spent about 20min just helping me load the film and showing me so much about the camera.

I was there for a good length of time and at the end I felt like I went to school. He sold me the lens too. so there was about a months time the camera was a paper weight, with me wondering about light meters and loading film and to be honest, learning the light meter filled me with all sorts of trepidation.

That's been the funniest tool so far though. You really can change your picture a lot with one of those.

I got it because I wanted to try to go to school or at least take a class, and one of the schools I called only worked with MF. So I thought better learn this.

Short story I thought I could learn more by going "old school".

Thank you Geoff for asking, I really hope school is going well for you.

Sorry for being late in respnding, Mark. Jet-lag took longer than expected & everything goes in slow-motion. This is a great way of greeting the new day, also a good fit for Valentine's Day.
Thank you for your kind comments on my photos.
Best regards,
Rafi

Beautiful shot, Mark. Wonderful cool tones in the sunset. I really like the different textures in the silhouettes of all the types of trees. And the reflection in the water is gorgeous.Well seen and captured.
