Thanks Susie. I like to hear from such an accomplished children's photographer as you. I think the photo is a bit cliche, but then most photos are variations on a cliche - even the best! I am just happy it turned out as well as it did because I can't go back and do it again.

Beautiful lighting in all three shots, Eb! A great series, enhanced by the dress and spontaneity of your grand daughter. I thing the blur really makes these shots, regardless of why you chose it.

Eb, it is very good! I couldn't tell the difference. I only started PS work since October, before that I only adjusted contrast and saturation. But since UF photographers are so skilled, I had to get my pictures a facelift :) Best regards, and great work - it reminds me of Degas' ballerinas.

This is very different Eb. It's growing on me! One of those shots that takes a while to sink in. It has a storybook feel to it. I love her soft pink dress and the utter concentration shown. Nice PS work by the way!

Thanks for your observation, David. I was surprised by how well it worked. One can control the angle of blur (in this case, following the floorboards,) but not the direction. It is actually bi-directional and shows by the streaks leading the subject.

I like the dynamic feel of it. Looks great with that light. So the motion blur is done in PS. The dark halo shows it a little, but it doesn't bother me. I like the emotion in this shot, thats what counts!
