for those of you who might be curious, the picture is taken on 26th of january, In Romania, the winter months are wintermonths, so it was a cold winter morning, just minutes before the sunrise. We made this roadtrip at the seaside with the main target of photographing the frozen sea.

Congratulations on your Photographer of the Day choice, Enache. The photo is exceptional. The lonely tree provides a great symmetry with the couple alone on the beach. The tone is terrific, too.

George!
This is beautiful! You've captured a perfect ambient light image. The tree hangs there, holding it's head just above the horizon. Wonderful composition! I like your choice for crop, and agree with you in regards of mathematical photographs. it's one thing when you're taking a picture of a building, but when life is the subject, you have to relax the framing a bit..as you did here. Also..this wide view put the walking couple on a longer walk ;) ...and makes the tree more connected to the image.

Felicitari pentru PoD! A well captured monochrome. Its minimalism expresses a lot of things. I am amazed at how you managed three hues of grey in this shot deliniating sky, water and land.The lonely tree with its contorted form is the accent and a well found one.

chris, regarding the 'fairly centered horizon' - if you'll take for the horizon, the darker part of the sky, you won't have it THAT centered :)
I wanted the persons almost centered, because i don't enjoy the "mathematical photographs" that much. A slight rule-breaking never hurt anyone ;) George

Very enjoyable. the figures and horizon are fairly centered, but the placement of the tree makes up for it. The lighting on the horizon is nice. Perhaps a little more breathing room on the top of the tree could help.
