Hi Mark, I know what you're saying about being young, we have a youth worshipping culture, which wasn't my intention to illustrate, as you rightly remarked. No matter what city you live in, NY is always the one to watch, or so we think from our perspective. Still, no matter where you come from, it's impossible not to be impressed by Times Square. I wonder what would have happened if Bob Dylan never went to NY...

Festive mood, lots of energy. There is that "thing" about being young and that sort of belief going around lately, but to me it isn't being communicated here, and all the better. All I'm seeing are the lights. I grew up marveling at city lights, in every city including old downtown Long Beach, CA (which no longer exists), to Chicago, to NY, Seattle and Vancouver. I was lucky in that I was able to go places. Gee, what am trying to get at? I guess I'm just reacting to this piece on my level.

SO spectacular! Congrats on yet another fantastic image and a very well deserved award. I love the shapes, colors, and angles of this on an abstract level. Also, you have packed a lot of thought provoking elements into this on different levels. This is a deep one. Great colors too!

A fine image. At first I was impressed that you had captured this scene in your viewfinder and I was wondering how they had arranged the advertising hoardings/display panels to create this effect. Then I saw that it is, as photo art, a creation out of your own mind.

Wow, lots to look at here...interesting abstract composition with rich colors and geometric shapes. The tilt gave it good diagonal lines, and I think the floating red letters give it a 3D effect.

A beautiful job on this compositions of one of my favourite artists! My youngest son got me the Martin Scorcese film "No Direction Home" for X'mas. It is a fantastic documentary for any Dylan fan!

I'm happy to hear you got the POD today, well deserved recognition for your really outstanding job. My congratulations.
Looking at your fantastic collage I can almost hear the sharp jazzy harmonica tones. In the picture you are showing another side of NYC, the likeness of young Bob and his sensible lyrics embedded into a great composition based on prominent architecture of the city with all those diagonals, lines, great fantasy of vibrant colors and reflections all that just to compose a dream picture. True I can hear the sharp jazzy tones of Bob's harmonica.
I'm truly happy on your recognition Ina, I just wanna to say a pre-verse to your rhyme - "May your wishes all come true, may you always do for others and let others do for you". Sweet and clear.

When I won my Staff Choice award it never made it to the front page at all (it wasn't what they call a "Featured" SC)so I'm thinking sometimes they give out more awards than are featured on front pages although this is a POD so I'm expecting it to be featured on the front page as such. Hope to see it there.
Yes I love the full width of the screen too now. Much nicer than all that grey at the sides. I was hoping it was just a matter of time and apparently the majority wanted it so Usefilm delivered. Great to see it smoothing out so nicely now.

Thanks Ann! I am a Bob Dylan fan - more of the country/rock than the folk side. Anyway, the face is young Bob Dylan. I've been watching the documentary "No Direction Home" by Martin Scorsese about Dylan's youth, and as I went through my NYC shots, the word "YOUNG" popped-out literally & it had Bob Dylan written all over it :)

I've been watching your work like a hawk and I go off to the bathroom for a minute and when I come back you have not only posted a new image but got a POD award on it and dozens of comments already. Geeez you gotta be quick around here with the Ina fan club or ya get left behind. :)
A HUGE and hearty Congratulations to you INA for this well deserved award. I'm still baffled though because I didn't see it on the front page yet it's dated today???
Anyway a fantastic image. The youthful figure on the left. The male portrait also portrays youth and the message is further conveyed by the large verticle NEON sign. A great perspective and lots of vivid colour to really make it pop. Love the lyrics and that song. Fabulous capture!!! Great shot Ina.

Hi Ina, extremely captivating image. The brightness and high levels of saturation add al lot to the appeal, as does the rather dynamic diagonal composition. Especially the red hues, running from the lower left to the lower right, and then up to the top left make it powerful and well balanced. Great stuff, Apart from picutring it in B&W, times square can only be done justice in colour...
