I like the almost monocromatyc mood, all the nuance of brown color, that mach very well with the pale aloe's green. The best, for me, is the harmonios disign and the composition, perfecly balanced.
Very well done!

Thanks Hugo, I took this at about midday with the sun from above and almost no shadow. The rock directly behind the aloe was almost totally shaded. The colour of this rocks is almost black with a reddish tint (high manganese content i think)contrasting nicely with the aloe. I did play around with the angles - this one came out the best I think. Will post another later. Regards.

strong but colourful light (because it's f16?).
Well organized shot with the two elements only, stone and succulent.

Hi Joggie, I admire your eye for details and composition. Very well captured, as if staged in a studio. the raw structure and the earthy tones make the aloe stand out beautifully. Also, the lighting appears to be rather selective, aimed only at the plant. (on closer inspection, I know it isn't and it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, but the lighter triangle in the rock behind it emphasises that suggestion) Again, a very ingenious and intriguing shot.

Cheers,

hugo
