Hi Ralf, thansk for taking the time to post the original... It makes me even more ambiguous which one I like best. The strong contrast, the addition of the bright red does make Tom stand out very strong, but I can also agree with a point of view that the contrast between the saturated red and the shades of grey and brown is just a bit too big. Besides, that choice is all up to you, of course...
Hi Ralf, the division between photographer and landscape works very beneficial here, opening up the composition, and allowing the viewer to imagine what Tom is shooting. A good shot, which works well in Black and White. I'm just a wee bit curious what the original (colour) version looks like, as I can imagine that with only a bit of crisp tones, the photographer would stand out a bit stronger.
