You have to just love those eyes. Excelent shot and crop of the photo. Great DOF too. Very dramatic.

Thanks to all the comments and also for the award. Much appreciated. Sometimes, especially in taking wildlife close-ups there is little time for planning and settings on the camera - I do a general setting on the aperture according to the most prevalent light conditions , shoot in aperture priority and go with the flow of the animals. Even though these shots were taken in the enclosure - about two hectares, human contact is not allowed or encouraged. I had to lie in the sun and shade, crawling closer and edging away from the pair whilst they were getting agitated with me and each other. The fact that I was lying down, made me less of a threat and increased the potential of being pounced on by them but luckily they were not that aggresive or hungry. Thanks again to all who visited and commented.

Nice capture. Shame the nose isn't quite sharp due to the extremely shallow DOF, or it would have been exquisite.

I appreciate your honesty in listing the location instead of making people think you shot this in the wild.

Thanks Peta - followed the links to your p'folio and got stuck on the 'my view' series, but also looked at the landscapes. Wonderful talent you have there and I respect the manner in which you use photography to convey (and possibly manage) your inner self.

Thanks for sharing.

oh wow, I couldnt click on this fast enough...and I am just loving this! The line from his eye to around his mouth is just wonderful to follow. Beautiful detail for such a small aperture too, brillant.

would have liked such a close encounter with this animal too, but should be more difficult in the wild ;-)
Awesome!

Thanks Karina - it was about 1.8 meters, no cropping, full frame as is. His breath was a little smelly...

Love your street photos - very vibrant and active.
