I like this composition/crop quite a lot. Because of the strong contrast I think that the open negative space is very well used here. I think that the detailed black lines on the edges of the shot at bottom, right, and top are a very strong element of composition. Good eye!

It´s beautiful shot and it´s creative to have the tree´s as a stopper for the eye. Although it also take too much of my attention and less to the lovely scenery of the landscape. I thik to take one step further and exclude the tree is better even though. But as i said, it´s beautiful like this too!!!!

Hi Mireille,

Compared to the previous high key image, I think there's still too much going on, eventhough it's already severely cropped, as you say. Also, the line is less dominant in this photo, I believe, and the less detailed elements in the snow also reduce the huge impact the previous one had.

Weird, though, as all elements are there. And it still is a nice shot, as I'm only comparing it to the top of it's league (the previous one, again) I think that has to do with the slightly different composition and the less well defined subjects; this photo shows us more of the scenery, which distracts me a bit from the beauty in it.

Cheers,

Hugo
