About	taken last Thursday when the fields were unusually green again; being very unhappy with the original (see above), I turned it into B&W and was/am quite satisfied with the result...appreciate criticism

Nice one Mireille! I agree that the B&W is substantially more interesting than the original. Nice eye to see this possibility. The effect created in the upper half of the shot is that the tree limbs are encased in ice. Facinating effect.

Near the bottom foreground it also has a little of the effect of a photocopy, with that flat high contrast look, which is also an interesting effect. Very creative work.

As a simple matter of my personal taste it appears is a bit over sharpened, yet the effect created by this is quite interesting and also a component of your photographic style, so this is not a critical remark on my part, just a statement of my own preference.
