Wow this is fantastic, I love this one best in the series, the colors, lighting, and contrast are fantastic, and not to mention the wide angle effect. Beautiful work as always Michael!

Metering:

I used two lenses for these shots.

Nikon MF from 1965...
F-stop is 1.4 on this lens, which is very fast and why I use it for low light shots. ISO 200. Focusing manually is difficult to say the least.

Manually set the F-Stop, take a shot, look at the exposure graph, and adjust until I get true whites on the far right (full white exposure). I set my colors flat, so in PS I can correct the exposures if under. Reading the exposure graph is better than eyeballing the preview because a plot of raw data will tell me if I am over or under.

Nikon AF DX Lens:
AF, so I do not have to focus. I spot meter on a face or flesh on the stage, then manually set F-Stop and exposure. I crank the ISO so I get at least 100th of a second to stop most of the action. At this concert it was ISO 1000.

Once again, shoot and stare at the exposure graph. I keep all my previews with a graph overview.

I used this lens at wide angle for more dramatic poses.
