Hi Ade thanks for commenting.I have had that lens for maybe a month. When I was on hols I broke my 18-55 so got this one partially because of its image stabaliser. At this moment of time I am not 1005 sure about it.I got the new 70-300 Is lens at the same time and that is a great walkabout lens.Ideal for holidays etc.

really like the comp and colour on this - it's the real lake district, none of these sunset things! or sun even....

I'd have gone for the tripod and longer exposure option (now there's a surprise!!!!) to get a bit more action in the water and that F16 crispness.

but that's me - stuck in my ways :-)

HOw long have you had the 17-85??? Looks a great lens but won't fit the 10D, or 5D (my next camera :-) )

Very well composed and executed, Danny.

The foreground rock detail, really persuades the viewer to study this fine, and varied landscape. I like the background mistyness, which imbues your image, with both interest and atmosphere, Danny.

Excellent wide-angle perspective, on a wonderful part of Cumbria. I like the hint of slow-shutter speed on the water, also. Seven.

Regards
Colin.

Bit of a grey day! Still, nice to be out in The Lakes. The damp brings out the colours in the rocks and bracken. Shame you can't see Skiddaw though.
