Thanks Sam - It does look much better - however, part of the "problem" with my shot is the shooter not fiddling with the lighting and camera settings the way I should have - and the grey frame is not a frame it is the wall in the hall where the quilt is hanging. The white balance is off. Will be using this to practice on in the next 3-4 weeks and play with lighting and camera settings, etc. The horizontal issue is probably a result of the quilt not hanging exactly square and my crop didn't help - took too much off of the bottom. How do you like the adjustable wood mini quilt holder I designed and Dad built for me? Cool huh? Mom

Hi My Busy Busy Busy Mother!
I Sooooo Love this pattern. And you are right....The Colors displayed here on Usefilm do not do this quilt any Justice. I Messed with the colors and the rotated the image a smidge...Thne I did away with the Grey frame you had and used a drop shadow...I think that with the drop shadow it will draw the viewers eyes into the shot rather then having a Grey frame that Mutes the colors in MHO. Love You Mom! let me know what you think!

Thanks Lisa - Don did a nice job fiddling with PS and making the colors pop more true to life. Am in the process of working on several blocks and 4 other quilts (2 of which should have been finished before Thanksgiving and 2 need to be done by January--busy, busy) Of course we do not discuss the number of other quilts that are in a partially completed stage. I am hanging my head down here and really do need to get back to taking and doing more with my photos and Usefilm. Thought I'd have more time when I retired, but there still are just not enough hours in the day. I could spend all day on Usefilm just looking at and commenting on so many super uploads. Darn.

Welcome back Jan,
I was wondering where you have been and what you were up to lately. This is a work of art. I'm sure in person the colors just come to life.
What a gorgeous quilt. Beautiful star design.
100+ for the quilt work. Great to see you post your hard work to share with us.
Lisa

Ah Ha! Those are truer colors than what the camera did. I should have thought to have fiddled with them in PS - but then I am not really sure how to do it correctly. Thanks a bunch for helping out here. Jan

Beautiful work Jan, no wonder you haven't been doing some pictures. Lots of work here. I messed with the color some with hue saturation. See if this is what you wanted.

Thanks Ellen - Messed around with the lighting somewhat - problem was that the white (fairy frost)and that gold is so reflective that I really got glow in the dark blow-out on the white especially. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Jan

Beautiful Jan. A real work of art. No wonder we haven't "seen" much of you lately. I would think there would be a trick to photographing these kinds of things. Maybe indirect lighting (spot) with a long shutter speed? I don't know much about it but it would be fun to play with. Anyway, it's gorgeous and congratulations on a fine quilt.

23 x 23? How big are the squares? That is gorgeous Jan. Did you try different lighting to get the colors to come out differently?
