About This photo disappoint me because of focus. I think 400mm lens and 2X teleconvert is too hard to get good focus sometime. View finder get very dark. But hippos in water look very small, then climb out and are huge. Like iceberg.

Lido, I can understand your self criticisms but under the circumstances with all eyes on you I would be happy to have any photo of these massive creatures in their element at all. I can just see you pressing the shutter button then running for the hills as fast your legs could carry you. I know I would.

Considering the subject and how all their eyes are upon you I would say well done and encourage you to go back and have another shot at that photo. NO....I would have to dare you to go back and take that shot again. ;) Next week I hope to see lions in your portfolio. :)

Good composition, but you are right about the focus. A long lens can be difficult to focus, especially with a teleconverter. A tripod really helps, as does a sand bag. A faster shutter speed can help. If you have a split image in your view finder you may have to adjust youe eye to see it right. Keep up the good work.
