No cropping.
Looking back on this one, I see very clearly that too much sharpening was applied to minimize the effect of having missed with focusing.

I like the framing of this one even better, as seeing the life in their eyes is the icing on the cake! Did you also use a teleconverter to get this close, or is this a crop from the 300mm range?

Hi, James!
Find peak Dankov on the map. This is a very prominent mount. Count 60 clicks up west and then 5 direct up north and that's the location :) China is as close as it can get. Torougart pass is the key auto route and easdy to find, too. Now, the Aksai valley I took in a truck to get where I'd been to is comletely blocked till middle of July. There's a way to get in by horse, though. :)
Photography wise, the place is magic!

Wow.. breathtaking photo... love the landscape... the horses... everything. the lighting is perfect and really makes the horses stand out.. the mountains in the background really impact the image.. great work!
