Truly perfect placement of the elements in this photo. At first I was a little dissapointed that the boy's face is so dark, but I have changed my mind and think that this near silhouette is just what you want here. The sky-reflection in the globe is truly amazing. I was convinced this was going to be a composite before I saw the full-size image. The slope adds a good deal of dynamics to the image.

Its of interest and pleasure for me to see how over time you have taking on/tried out different and various styles in your photography. This one is special my friend - a moment well timed and captured. (note - I'm not using the famous HCB 'D' words :))

Hi Christian, an excellent shot, no doubt about that. And a well deserved BIP. The only thing that I had to ponder about for a while is whether either the boy or the bird are redundant in this shot. I think the crater-like reflection in sphere (as Matej aptly calls it), the perspective and either the boy or the bird would've been enough....

But then there's the following consideration if either one of them would've been removed from the image. The pose of the boy cannot be improved upon, but without the bird, he needs to be placed more to the right. Basically, that applies to the bird too.

If one of them *had* to go, I'd opt for the bird, as the boy has a much larger impact in the photo. Changing it too much would make it less intriguing, so in conclusion, I think I'd leave it as it is: An excellent shot....)

Quite an elaborate narrative for such an easy conclusion....;o)

Cheers,

Hugo

Quelle honneur d'avoir reçu le BIP! Félicitations!
On est de retour de la Bretagne, dommage que Paris était trop loin!

Oh, he was alive all right!
I was aiming at a group of pigeons and he came running to make them fly, giving me the chance to make a really different shot.

The cloud reflections on the sphere look like craters, making it look like a big moon rising from beyond the horizon. A good angle you have chosen.
Strange as it may seem, I am not at all sure whether the running boy is alive, or a statue. Which is it?

Excellent angle; very well seen! A difficult run, uphill ... but with that bird so close it looks easy.

A masterpiece!
