About The sixth image of the small sub-series inside the series "Natural shapes". Any comments would be very welcome.

A series dedicated to Avi just for the smoke! ;-)

Thanks a lot, Tony!

Well, together with the fact that many people liked exactly the one image of this series that was more like a B&W goves me a good hint for retrying this with a B&W film. It really makes sense to me.

Cheers!

Yes,definately better in monochrome as it focuses one on the fine central image.
Have a good weekend, Tony

After seeing the results I also thought that monochrom would fit better, Tony. I would strongly prefer real B&W film, however, since simply turning it to greyscale in PS looks perhaps similar but it isn't the same with film grain at all.

Still, let's convert it to B&W for a glance of what it could have been if I had used a B&W film. (Attachment.) Better? To me it makes the impression that it goes "purer" this way. More concentration on the main things, I guess.

Cheers and thanks a lot!

Converted to B&W for a glance of Tony's idea

Ok,I see that the shot was taken on Kodak Supra but I do think a PS monochromatic grain would have suited this image better. As you so rightly say, it's simply a matter of taste!
Cheers, Tony

Of course you knew, Avi! So, roll a good one for me, and let's play universe. I thought that making some reference from smoke to something else might be a good way to make this series for you.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the comment, Tony!

I used neither flash nor joss sticks. It was the smoke from my pipe, like on all images of the sub-series.

About grain (not noise, grain!!!) I find it often one of the best stylish elements. Especially in this subseries it had to be, as you can perhaps see while the sub-series gets completed. It is a bit about the universe which has a grainy "essence". Still of course it is a matter of the own taste.

Cheers!

Engaging abstract(joss stick and flash?) but there's a LOT of noise which distracts.
Best regards, Tony
