About Even the superstrings are there! ;-) I think that this time the limited DoF worked well but I am not sure about inluding so much green in the image. Would it be better to go closer to the drops?

Or the spider has thin web, Aziz! ;-)

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Ian!

I didn't think about the result of a closer capture on the focus but now that you say that I think you are quite right.

Cheers!

OK, now I understand, Aziz! Same as Dave has thought of that. But the drops were really motionless. They were caught in the spider net that is still visible on the image, though much weaker than the drops themselves.

Cheers!

Oh, now I understand what you mean, Dave! Thanks a lot for the explanation. The drops were not moving. The were caught in a spider net which is less visible but still there. So, I just has to do a light metering and shoot without caring about motion blur.

Cheers!

spectacular Nick!
Having your drips in the centre line of the frame is terrific for the effect. Closer would be less drops in focus, surely.

No, by freezing, I mean you have captured the droplets as they are motionless.

Hi Nick, by the "right" shutter speed, I meant that you froze, or stopped the movement, of the drops of water spraying up in front of the tree.

Thanks a lot again, Vandi!

I am thinking about its composition still.

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the nice detailed comment, Dave!

About the "right shutter speed", it was not any kind of hard case, so what do you mean by that? I don't understand exactly. :-/

Cheers!

Thanks a lot Aziz!

With "freezing" you mean something like looking cold?

Cheers!

Tighter crop of the original

Nick Karagiaouroglou Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127263} 10/1/2008
As a simulation of what it could look like, I attach a tighter crop of the original image, Indranil. Well... I guess the drops are still too small but perhaps you get an idea.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the nice comment! And BTW, if the web of the spider waits for catching some water drops it will be just about perfect to me! ;-)

Cheers!

I like the balance between the spruce branches and the raindrops against the darker background, Nick! A well composed shot, and just the right shutter speed.
Dave.

Hi Nick.
It's excellent for its dof and freezing, ...
I'm completely agree with Indranil Ray.

Outstanding shot. I really love the DOF and focus.

This looks really nice and I think taking closer shot of drops will create another different perspective. I cant compare This shot with Closer Drops. May be you can show us the result of closer drops or macro spider. I know the spider will not wait there for you ;). Lets hope for the best ;).

I like the composition of this photograph very much.

Cheers!
Indranil
