About Catched these cute little birds in Botswana Bee-eaters eat bees, wasps, sawflies and other flying insects. Their specialty is catching the small insects that other birds find unappetising or dangerous because of their venomous stings.

The birds have an interesting technique for extracting this venom: they squeeze it out by repeatedly hitting the insect on a hard surface. The process takes only about 15-20 seconds.

Great to see them together, like one big family, making holes in the walls where they hide, hope you like them! xxJen

I reckon this is a pretty good photo, Jen. There's a wonderful array of birds here in a natural setting. The branches provide some excellent leading lines. I particularly like the bird in flight at top left. If I were to be really picky (and don't you just know it - I'm going to be!) I'd want to see the beak of the bird at top right in the frame, and the tail of the bird at bottom left. But how perfect do you want it? I like this one...
