About A Yagua family near Iquitos, Peru. According to the legend, Spanish conquerors named the river Amazon after Yaguas, because those Indians looked like the legendary Amazons with their small skirts and long pipes.

Increased sharpness, applied sepia and cropped.

Comments and critiques will be most welcome.

I was so excited to come back on here and see so many more photos from you - all incredible! I love the world view you have and share with us here. Makes the desire to see the world burn even more inside of me - thank you for that!

Anyway, about THIS - I love the photo. The coloring, tone, lighting, contrast, DOF, angle, and everything is just excellent - but mostly I love the expressions. The contrast between the child's serene expression of just BEING and the old man performing depicts a lot. Nice work, as usual :)

Laura, thank you very much for your contribution.

I agree: sepia adds a nostalgic tone to pictures. It is also useful IMHO in creating a balance for the light, by correcting over-exposures and decreasing the contrast.

Greetings from Istanbul,
