  Q. Long Time Exposures for shooting Stars?
Erik Barnes
Asked by Erik Barnes    (K=-96) on 6/5/2008
Can anyone explain the techniques on shooting at night paticularly the stars with motion? What apetures do you use? Do you cover the viewfinder? etc. Thanks in advance.

Regards, Erik Barnes

Aperture can be anything. Wide open works well. You're looking at infinity anyway and very little light hitting the sensor.
Do make sure you're pointing your camera away from any light sources, not even light sources that could reflect dimly into the lens.

Covering the viewfinder can help.
