Q. Developing your own negatives

I got so tired and fed up with High street developers bodging the job of my negatives i.e. scratches, marks and thumb prints on the odd occasion, that I have purchased a 2nd hand Paterson developing tanks, some Ilford ID-11 developer and started producing my own negs. The results are far better - ok no prints - but the scanning is far easier with less, in fact, no dust and scratch removal and quick archiving in neg holder binders. The darkroom material appears to be making a comeback with prices becoming strong for developing kit. I c an't get excited about digital at all. Any takers?
