  Q. Lens for Canon D 10 & Canon Rebel

Asked by Theresa Long    (K=30) on 5/11/2003
I am considering getting a Canon D 10 and wonder if the lens' that fit my Canon Rebel will fit it. Anyone know?

Hi Theresa,
I don't know all the history of Rebel cameras, but as long
as it is an EOS type camera with EF lens mount you can
exchange lenses without problem.
Regards,
tc

Hi Theresa,
There is a possible compatibility issue, namely that older third party EF lenses (eg Sigma) may not work correctly on the more recent Canon EOS bodies, ie the EOS 3, 1V, 1D, 1DS, 10D etc.
If you are using an EOS fit third party lens older than about 5 years, you may well have this problem.
The lens can usually be updated by the third party manufacturer. In the case of Sigma, if you can prove you bought the sigma lens new and the new canon body I believe they will do the update for free. Otherwise it costs a small amount.
HTH
Chris

Thanks for the info! I don't really know how long ago I bought my len's but it would have been less than 3 years. I will keep your comments in mind when I take the plunge.

Thanks,

Theresa
