  Q. Anyone own a Tamron lens for your Nikon?

Asked by Sherry Hammonds    (K=184) on 6/27/2006
Hello,
I am looking into getting a new lens for my camera and I am wondering if you have used or purchased a tamron lens?
I looked at one today.
It looks great, the focus is fast and the photos look sharp.

let me know what you think?

Thanks a bunch,
Sherry

I just got a tamron 90mm/2.8 di 1.1 macro lens for my Minolta 7D an I love it.. Macro/closeuo photo's are razor sharp (see portfolio) and the portraits I've done with it are quite nice and sharp also. This lens is definity worth it's money.

But as you don't say what kind of lens you're looking for there isn't much more to say..

Before I buy any lens I Google it to find user`s review.I hope it wasn`t on the camera you view the photo as it is misleading, shoot a image and look at 100% on your computer.
As Gerhard stated the info given isn`t enough.

I've owned two Tamron lenses and sold both of them.
I now use Nikon lenses and the quality is better.
I know a lot of people who use Tamron and Sigma with no complaints so I guess you just have to decide which suits you.

I own and use a Tamron . . . along with several Nikon Lenses. My wife also has a Tamron lens in her bag! I use mine (as does she) with little or no regard since it works very well and is, in my opinion, interchangeable quality-wise. I used it for http://www.usefilm.com/image/1155552.html
and many other shots if you want to look at the lens in use . . . but I don't know which lens you're thinking about here . . . macro, wide angle, telephoto, etc. I can only vouch for mine and my wife seems very happy with hers and Gerhard likes his . . . but we all three are using different lenses. Hope that helps.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~~

Hi Sherry,
I see Doyle pointed you in my direction...I'm no pro, just a Grandma with a camera that LOVES my Tamron 90mm Macro! It really is a great lens.
Take care...Robin
