  Photography Forum: Darkroom Techniques Forum:
  Q. How about the Digital Darkroom?

Asked by Arthur John Grossman III    (K=1214) on 1/4/2002
I see that the first three posts here reference the traditional darkroom. Should Digital Darkroom posts be included here, or should it receive a seperate forum? Does anyone care?

I think that the digital darkroom is a sufficiently different beast from the traditional darkroom, that it probably should be seperate.

I agree with Roy, since most "digital darkrooms" would no doubt include Photoshop, which is a subject in itself.

I also see that as a separate forum, since it can be such a big topic in its own right. I'd make an exception for combined digital and analog processes, like making digital master negatives for contact printing and such.

IMHO I think the term "Digital Darkroom "is stupid and misleading. You don't have to be in the dark in order to process digital images so why use the tėrm "darkroom" ?
Cheers......Gerard
