  Q. Multi contract filters

Asked by John Rusinko    (K=401) on 12/1/2004
I have a set of Ilford Multi contrast filters that I have been using on Ilford paper, can I use other types of paper with these filters??

Yup, they'll work with most any variable contrast paper. They won't be exactly equal to the kodak filters, and they won't have exactly the same effect with all papers. So 2 on one paper may be a little more or less contrasty with one paper or another, but they'll work just fine.

One manufactors filters will work with any type MC paper.

Ilford is still in production and appears to be back in the film and paper business, altho, the chemical side of the busincess may be contracted out. Check Silverprint's web site for specifics.
