Q. Using 50mm lense to print 120?

I don't have a 75mm lense yet to print 6x4.5cm 120 film. Any experience with using a 50mm lense with this film? What should I expect?

The normal lens for printing a 645 image is actually 63mm so you are not all that far off. You will see some vignetting in the corners as the lens probably will not cover the full negative. If you are only going to print the center of the neg, you will not notice anything wrong.

well you didn't really supply enough information. 120 film?? but which format ?? there is at least a 1/2 dozen different format sizes that use that film size.

So.. for 6 X 7 format needs a 75 mm lens or longer i.e. 90 but 75 will do just fine.. DO NOT GO OUT AND PURCHASE AN EXPENSIVE ENLARGING LENS !

purchase a 25 dollar "beslar" enlarging lens el-cheap -O !!

When 11 x 14 RAZOR SHARP prints were made with a "beslar" enlarging lens side by side with a $480 dollar El-Nikor enlarging lens.. 2 CENTS WORTH OF DIFFERERNCE could not be seen or noticed. in fact most people picked the "beslar" prnt over the el-nikor print..
