  Q. What makes a good image our ?Best image??
Mary Vareli
Asked by Mary Vareli    (K=15826) on 12/20/2004
I have a question; can we include an image to a project if this project was assigned after the upload of this image? I did this with this image which I consider my ?best image of 1994? but I am not sure if I did the right thing, or if this follows usefilm rules.
http://www.usefilm.com/image/611004.html
(I have done if before I confess) I just don?t know!

Something else?Really what can define someone?s best mage? I guess a sentimental aura around it?What else? (Rhetoric question). What do you say? This is a successful project for many reasons? I look at the images people uploaded as their best images and try to understand the way they think, photographically speaking? I understand that some people take technique into account, others the topic, others a sentimental abstract and subjective ( or not) idea, others?.you tell me?.

Happy holidays to all. I am sentimentally attached to many people in here, people I know only from their photos and this is all I need to know from them! It is enough to create a spontaneously healthy interaction. Best wishes for them and the ones I do not know, but most of all a great THANK YOU to usefilm staff and our low profile administrator. Community rules form behaviours?I have experienced it with my community in the past. Healthy people make healthy communities.
Love and rose petals to all . I dare to create a motto for the rest, the ones who are not included in my previous wishes ?Shoot Photos, Not People?. Catching a moment by means of a photo immediately creates an obligation, an attachment to it?.a responsibility?.which equals love (most of the times, a people prefer to shoot things they love especially when they are amateurs).

Best regards!
Mary

It is hard to say which is best in 2004..But this was one of the most graphic and best a few years ago. What ever you and your friends think is best-probably is.

You are right, this image proves how subjective the title "best" is. I noticed that images like that can be considered best for personal ideas that go beyond photography. Kostas Tzanetos (UF) has 2 similar images uploaded. So this is a clue to my "investigation". I hope more people answer!
I guess for a 100% professional "best" is the more techicallt perfect, for amateurs it is possibly something sentimental, something that comes from within. happy new year!

This photo has been posted a number of times on other sites. It brought thumbs down and many praises also. This tragedy claimed the life of a really beautiful 16 yr old, just started driving a new auto that her father had purchased for her.
Inside was her MOUNTAIN DEW BOTTLE, her check stub from her second payroll check. She worked in a store as a clerk. This photo is horrible but it does shake me and others when they find out what happened. I must tell you that her body was badly mutulated as a result of this crash.

I see what you mean, that the choice of "best picture" is something conceptual sometimes with the aim to inform and warn against something harmful. This is a point!

Thanx for answering to my question, I wanted to see other viewes also, apart from mine.

Until now I traced 3 reasons for "best image" choice factors, which are something

1.conceptual, with the aim to inform and/or warn against something harmful

2.aesthetically harmonious

3.technically correct

I wait for more suggestions.
