use black seamless paper, black cloth, a room with no light, with the subject only lite.

Hi Marta,
Black velvet absorbs ALL light that hits it and makes for a great black background. I have shot with it many times and have always had a jet black background with no reflections, texture, etc. It's not that cheap, but it works really well. (Other black fabric will reflect back some light). If you look at my portfolio, the pics "Rosary", both guitar pics, and "Black Velvet" were all shot in front of black velvet backgrounds, some with strobe, some with hot lights. (Make sure you get uncrushed velvet, my sister was wearing black crushed velvet gloves in the "Black Velvet" picture and you can see that they reflect a little light). Hope that helps!
