  Q. Insurance for Wedding photographers

Asked by Nuno Silva    (K=335) on 9/16/2007
Hi there,
I am about to get insurance (or maybe not) from a company called Photoguard.
My doubts is regarding the terms and conditions of making a claim particularly with equipment that will be left unantendded while photographing the events.
For example while at the recepetion i will take my bag towards the end of the hall where it takes place, just by the Dj and leave it there while i photograph the event (am i being unreasonable).
The problem is that they don't seem to cover if the bag is stolen while i am photographing because according to the terms and conditions i left the bag unantendded and therefore the insurance will not allow a claim if something happens. since it is my fault!!! if i don't keep the bag with me at all times.
I think that is wrong and would be wondering if this seems to be the same all across insurance companies or just this one and if it is all across the companies, what does everyone does with bags and equipment?
Does anyone know or uses this company, it is a UK company.
If not does anyone know a good UK insurance company?
Thank you.
Nuno Silva.
