My personal opinion is that there are policies and guidelines in place that are not going to change any time soon. Most are well aware of them, whether they agree with them or not.
Again, I personally am here because of my interest in photography - and I have never once had a problem... with a mod or user. While I might not agree with some policies/guidelines, I believe in sharing information and photos first. Any topic besides photographic knowledge is meaningless to me on this site.
And now the original complaint has been lost and again another post started that is complaing about the removal of threads and mod activity... personally Rashed, I know you are an extremely talented photographer and are always willing to share as much knowledge as you can... but if you are here for photography, then disregard everything else and concentrate on photography... unless the other subjects are that bothersome to you in which case I would make a decision as to whether to keep posting images or not... but personally I think there are too much personal beefs being aired in the forums and I say let's stick to photography.

Yes you are 100% correct Rashed, us moderators do not give anyone awards and do not listen to anyone else but our friends. We only award images that are substandard and to people that do not want awards. It gives us a thrill to exercise such power and control the lives of so many. My appologies for not understanding you. How could I have been such a fool. Oh please forgive me for the errors of my way, for you are the wise one and know best what happens here and all of the moderators are in error for chosing the images that are so bad they do not deserve awards and removing comments that are based on photography and art and what this site is all about. I have just fired all of the moderators and they are now powerless give such awards and remove those beautiful well written critiques and helpful forum comments that inspire others.
There Rahsed, are you happy? Perhaps it is just my big moderator head.
Enjoy your day Rashed, post more useful threads about "faverizim" and how bad things are, and how everyone here other then brother al is out to get you and everyone else. Don't you dare post anything about photography or a meaningful critique on a members image, that is not why this site is here. We are here only to insult people and give people a platform to voice their views on politics and theology and to let everyone know that all of the moderators are against them. How could I have misunderstood that. I am such a fool. Where did I put my flagellation stick, I need to beat myself over this silly error.
Thank you so much Rashed for bringing this to light. I don't know how I could have gotten through the day without this post. It just makes me glow knowing that it was rich in photographic and artistic content that will stick with me for many years to come.

Rashed,i did read your original thread and all that followed which ended with Akite's first reply ...i did not get to read any other replies after Akite's first reply and thus only know what was said by others based on what you write here now in this new thread...
My first thought was how amazing it would be if we could harness all of the energy used here for complaining and direct it toward something truly important in the world...we all at one time or another get caught up in petty issues increasing stress and wasting precious moments of our lives...here at UF,we have in common that we are human beings and that we are photographers...we CHOOSE to be here and can also CHOOSE not to be...
I personally think that many here do not realize that UF is a privately owned service business...the rules are quite simple and are called the FAQs located under the Home pull-down menu and at the bottom of each page...also,the "Terms of service" is a list of what is expected by members and is located at the bottom of each page...
One of the statements Admin/owner,AL broadcast during this last upgrade was about keeping a positive atmosphere here at UF...and if we did have any serious complaints,we were to discuss them privately with him via email...
You mentioned in your original thread that you felt too many awards were going to the same group of members...i wonder if you are basing that on the front-page?...many award photos on the front-page rotate when staff/mods are not available to choose new ones...next time you see a name with an award that you have seen frequently,click on that image and read comments of congrats to see the date of that award...often times that image was given that award a year ago or more and is only showing up again on the front-page because of an automatic rotation...i know this for a fact because one of my award images from a year ago rotates on the front-page now and then...
Do you go to the donor only award nomination forum,currently titled POD #16, to suggest high quality photos for consideration for an award?...many are selected from these donor member nominations,not all,but AL and staff do look at them when they get a chance...
Do you realize that AL/staff/mods have jobs/families and enjoy getting out to shoot,too?...the mods are volunteers appointed by AL...just like the world outside of UF,the mods/staff are a mixed group of people...there is probably at least one person you do not like,or have a problem with in your daily life outside of UF,right? It is the same here at UF..."you can please some of the people some of the time,but not all of the people all of the time"...
Regarding awards and UF...show me where it says that UF is about AWARDS???.....yes,it is always nice to have one's work recognized,but UF is first and foremost an educational/critique site...there are so many other photo sites that give what is called, "incentive to stay awards",and/or "vanity awards" (stroking egos to keep members happy)rather than recognizing exceptional photos based on the merits of that photo...these "virtual awards" will not whiten your teeth,increase your paycheck,increase your gas mileage or pay your bills...LOL...they simply are chosen by people based on their subjective opinion...all of us have our own subjective opinions and express them in comments to others...i nominated one photo 2 times because i was so blown away by the strengths of the photo and could not understand why it wasn't being recognized with an award...it never received an award,but at least some members were curious enough about my nomination to check it out and leave a comment which is a form of recognition in my opinion!...
There are many of us who are happy with meeting people from all over the world,making some lifetime friends,viewing amazing images,learning new techniques,helping others,and getting feedback on our own work...it baffles me why anyone who is unhappy with UF,for whatever reason, would continue to stay...

Rashed is no donor, claims we won't allow him to become one because of where he lives...
He used to be a nice, friendly person. But early this year he suddenly changed into something different, and now all he does is rage and complain, and constantly removes and reposts his work whenever he thinks he's slighted in some way.
It's almost like a few months ago someone else took over his account, someone with a completely different and far darker personality than the Rashed we'd come to like and respect, a Rashed who even offered to help me get a job in Qatar and arrange work permits and visa.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt initially in this thread perhaps too early, based on his apparent friendliness and generosity, but these actions are not rational. Rashed, if you are doing this you need to take a good look at what your purpose is in being on this site.

Iam not scared been baned.
I have removed all of my images this afernoon to put an end to something I tried to do good and turned bad.
that thing i wrote been deleted .
the other thing i wrote is what is on the top of this page.
Anything else is not mine ,beleived or not ,it is not mine .
Ms. Gayle Hardman, why should i be in conflict with you, do i know you , did i add bad comments on your images, there is no reason , may at some times i was so close to that friend he wrote all of that but i never did ask any one to write anything about any one except what i did write.
i do not need any one to beleive this , its enough i do beleive it

Ms. Gayle Hardman, Its just i do not know why you do not undersarand that what I did write was not what i wantred my way, i wanted something for all, getting it done or not is the reason why asked for it ,i do have my own site for more than a year now but also iam connected to 2mg IT wide range wireless system and many of friends next door using my system.
you did not like my request here , so weather i did like you reaply or not its makes it both side opinion, so you are no entitle to tell me weather to stay or go unless of course you jave something else in your heart against me , i hope there iam mistaken.
i did not dick into this ,you came here, said what every you said being your opinion and i did not even answer you.
so if you do not like people saying whats in their minds , you also most welcome to leave here and find your self another place.
Of course i am saying this just to show you that people will have differences but should have no bad feelins for each other.

I did go twice now next door to see that friend of mine, but each time I am there his mother keep telling me he is not yet back home, at the same time I do not want to do any thing stupid at this time of the night. The morning have a better eyes and me and him will meet , in case he did go wrong with you , I promise to teach him something he will never ever forget.
At the same time, I did not write that thread for you to start with here, I write it for UF and if you are not one of the moderators on UF that should not bother you at all.

Rashed - I don't understand what your problem is. Seriously. You complained in the other thread because you got an award. What is so wrong with that? What is wrong with recognizing people's hard work? If I got an award I would be very happy. Granted, it's not my #1 priority as the comments and constructive criticism have been more helpful to me than any award I could be given. To me it's all about improving my work not only through criticism but also viewing other people's work to see what looks good and what doesn't.
I'm sure all of the moderators work really hard to keep this site up and running and you really don't need to be giving them a hard time over nothing.

Dear Carlen Schmidt, I never did complain because I have got an award, this is not right at all.
It is too late now, it was not even a complain, it was just an idea of awards been give in a way which I thought was not fare" and that was my personnel opinion" I could have been told weather Iam right or wrong". It is too late because that thread do not more exist, so I would request you to be fare , if you did not read thread , how would you tell what was my points.
Many people here do raise points to be discussed and sometimes it the right way to sort problem out, that’s of course having what I have posted still on the forum, which is not.
My friend you directly went to Phil words, with my all respect to him and you, when some one jump into darkness and he can not see anything, how good if he only take one side of the matter.
Again my friend, I would not blame you at all, just it’s nice some one knows the real story instead of jumping in the middle of something he do not know .

Maybe you could explain why you think the award system is so unfair and what is so wrong about people who take good photos receive recognition.
If you didn't want an award all you had to do was email a moderator and ask if it could be removed. You didn't need to cause all this drama.
Also, leave politics out of this. They have nothing to do with usefilm or this discussion. I am very offended that you would even say that.
And I'll take your own advice - I'm not going to let 1 bad person ruin my positive experience on this site.

Ask to see the thread which was posted by me , it is not also against awards been given to some one who deserve it.
The story is 100% different than what you are writting here, may be it is my mistake ,you can not read and understand or you do not want to , may be you only have some thing different in mind which I do not like to deal with.
