  Q. Improve Those Comments!!!

Asked by Colin Cartwright    (K=15699) on 12/4/2005
How about a minimum length for comments???

Although it's good to get a quick acknowledgement - I'm becoming disappointed, with the lazy and thoughtless, "great shot" type.

If there was a minimum - say 25 words ,(this shouldn't tax even the laziest!) then those of us who take time, care and effort, to comment upon comment-worthy images, may not be so PO.

After all, we are here to learn better photography and can't improve with inane, one-liners!

Set a minimum word length and get some much needed improvement in quality!!

I agree that many comments are not helpful, and I am guilty of making some. Instead of a minimum word limit, just encouraging people to say speciifically what they like or dislike about a photo would be more instructive. I personally would like more critical comments to learn about technique and presentation. Comments like, "great shot" are not that helpful. However, sometimes it is a great shot and telling another person that is a nice thing to do.
