Well.. one can argue that the physical aspect of a camera is not there, however, an eye is seeing an image. The computer camera is your tool, very much like whatever camera you hold to your face. After all, what is it that I do for a living? ;) every day at work, the word, "camera" is used. ...not once referring to a physical object with a lens.
This is a snap shot. A moment in time, taken, grabbed, collected into a composed image as seen by your eye, and presented to the world as your vision of the moment. granted, nothing physical is captured, but your image invokes emotion, as would a photograph of a swirl of light. I will often stop a particle simulation in mid growth, and orbit my 'camera' view around the cloud of stalled dots, and see many views that I wish I could save as art. If I were to do so, there would be thousands of images just like yours..and like photography, one captured can speak to you and the masses more than the other. That's what this is.
well done michael! a crown on top of all your growing images of this adventure into the chaos of particles, that so closely mirrors our way of life in more ways than can be imagined.
cheers buddy.

Apophysis is great, one of my friends put me onto it. Here is my first (quite successful) attempt.
Also, have you tried Terragen? It allows you to create landscape images with surreal or random components. It's free from the developers and well worth a look also :)

Reminds me of molten glass. Very interesting image. I don't mind the image cropped as is.

Nichole:
Hope you have a speedy machine! You can control the view of the object - I was trying to "crop" for compositional purposes. Silly me.

wow, well this is really cool. I love the flow and brilliant color on black. If you can control another image like this I'd like it if the bottom edges of the "tenticles" were not cut off. nice work, I'll have to investigate this program. cheers, nicole
