Is there a color cast in this photo?
On my monitor it seems to have very faint reddish and green tints in some areas. The snow isn't very white either. hmmm.

Edit - November 20, 2005:
Ok, it's unanimous; No one can see any odd colors in this shot. Thanks for the feedback, now I'll have to purchase a new monitor. The one I'm using came from a second-hand store, lol, so I can't complain too much about it.

Fantastic depth to this stunningly composed Winter's scene Kes. I love the powerful dramatic sky with it's wonderful details and that lovely little stand of trees bottom left. Great work. Warm regards.....Ray

Love this one too and would like to see the original in color, just for the tones of the clouds.

nice image.. like the starkness of the composition..the slightly overexposed areas add to the image... great capture.. can't tell if there is some noise in the sky or it is just clouds.. either way it is a great photo.. good work

Your little naked trees...I so LOVE them!!
They look to be more together and organized that those pines in the distance and I hope they win!
Your title couldn't be any more clever and this is an outstanding landscape shot done in monotone! I see no color cast ~ PERFECT!

I don't see any colour casts. This image is incredible. The light on white effect and the simplicity of the landscape.

Nice landscape Kes.
I like the composition. There doesn't seem to be a problem with any colour cast. I like the idea of the opposing armys of trees. Almost like the Ents in Lord Of The Rings.

Very nice Kes, No off color here. Looks black and white to me.. A good way to check is to go to levels and pick the white balance eyedropper and click it on a white area. Nice work Kes, well composed. Don.

Thank you for your nice comment Ann. This shot was from April 2005...but we had a little snow - 4 inches - last night to jog the memory.

I don't have PhotoShop, but of course I have other editors. I use Picasa2 mostly - it's free and easy.

Initially I tinted this shot...and it sometimes leaves some color. After seeing this I "converted" it to B&W. This seems to take the color out. (!)

I like the contrasts I get quickly from the "tint" option, so I usually just use it. Sometimes "tint" creates a blowout.

Anyhow, when I start seeing red and green then perhaps it's time to shut the computer off.

This is very bold and strong Kes. I love the war of the sky and the earth scene is ever so peaceful. Love all the white stuff. I hope I get to play in it this winter. Always a novelty for me. :)

I don't see any casts or tints on my screen Kes but perhaps I'm not the best judge as I use a laptop and am always having problems getting consistency with my colours, brightness and contrasts.

Thank you also for your winderful comment on my Yosemite River Scene image. Appreciate the time you took to view and comment.

Cheers - Ann :)

Thanks for your kind words Robert. I thought the trees looked like two armies...then the battle against/with/for nature came to mind also. Snow is beautiful, but man, it's COLD!!!

Have a great weekend!
