I agree with what Peter said Jan, if you can get the flowers right by a window with good light coming through it will reduce the shadows and eliminate the use of your flash. If the light still isn't quite enough try increasing the ISO. Great flowers, pretty colors!

Wonderful Photograph Janice, Great colors and clarity and Composition. Try moving the flowers further away from the wall to defuse the shadows or try not to use a flash and up your exposure Bias if room light is not enought.
