Look at that .. for us who don't know these animals, it's quite surprising to see that animals are all much alike ;-) Peter

I watched a documentary on TV 2 weeks ago where a killer whale (an orca, right?) drove itself up onto the pebble beach - which must have hurt - and snatched a young seal. Other than watching footage of tornados and, alas, the recent tragic tsunami, I think it was one of the most powerful images I've ever seen in nature.
Thankfully in this instance the baby seal got away, albeit with some teeth-marks..... Steve.

Steve, Thanks for the kind words. Yes, they can be quite vicious, especially towards their prey or towards each other: http://www.usefilm.com/image/697320.html That's probably just a couple of juvenile males practising what will be a real fight for a mate in a few years.
They are, in turn, preyed upon by orcas, which can also be quite deceptively cute, as at Sea World:-)

Hi Amitava, catching up slowly & backwards....
This is so cute, hard to believe these guys can be so vicious when the mood takes them (I think I'm right?) Regards Steve.
