About To everyone at Usefilm, I wish you a Happy New Year. May the year to come bring you peace and tranquility.
(The kids are at a New Year's Eve party, and so here is what I thought would be a wonderful way to bring in the New Year -- a bubble bath with my Nikon and Augusten Burrough's book, "Magical Thinking"! (Bravo Augusten for writing one of my all-time favorite books!!!!!! :) T.

:) Thanks Steve! Just make it HOT because you will not want to quit reading and that way you won't have to let the cooled down water out as often in order to add more hot..lol.

I have not read the book but I think I will have to now - must also make a note to get two candles for the tub .... what temperature do you reccommend for the water - I have to create the correct ambience for the occasion lol

Best wishes,
Steve

Wonderful shot Toni, Beautiful lighting from the candle makes it look so relaxing and I am wondering when the last time I took a bubble bath. I think it was before Jimmy was born. My sister is reading Magical Thinking now. She says it is wonderful. I might just have to pick up a copy and start a warm bubble bath. I suppose I could lock the kids out for an hour or two or three...sounds like a great plan.

You are welcome...and just after sending you that story and reading your reply, I went into the bathroom and noticed a candle still burning from last night. It had been 12 hours! The two candles in the picture had burned down to nothing but some drips of wax at the bottom of the holder. I'd forgotten to blow them out!

Absolutely fantastic Toni, if that story doesn't make the front page as critique of the year then there is something amiss lol

Brilliant lol

Of course Mark can always buy you a waterproof housing for the future :-)

Thanks for the best laugh of the year so far !

Thanks Steve! It wasn't exactly work :) I hope you will enjoy this story. It went like this: Climb in bathtub with book ready to go. Bask in warm water for a few minutes just staring at the candles. See possible photo idea. Think...do I really want to get out of this nice warm water and drip down the hall to get the camera and risk dumping the camera in the tub? Arrange candles better. Hmmmmm....think somemore. Then OUT I lept, dripping a LOT because I didn't even bother to dry off, slipped on the linoleum almost falling, dashed down the hall to grab camera and cfcard (which was in the computer and I wondered if I might get shocked being that it was on and I was wet). Set ISO and shutter by candlelight whilst dripping all over the camera. Back into the tub with the camera...shoot shoot shoot. Then I put the camera down and read for a bit! Then Mark came by to see me reading and up to my ears in bubbles, the Nikon perched on the side of the tub. I then asked rather demurely, "Honey...would you be so kind as to put my camera away so I don't get it wet...I was just shooting some pics?" We had quite a laugh! After an hour (about midnight) I hopped out, ran down the hall listening to the sounds of fireworks and clanging in the neighborhood, peeked out the window, and then went to work in PS. I posted this at 12:30 a.m. It was the best New Years!

Nice New Year photo. I tried to capture the fireworks from mountain top of the LV strip, but was just too far away.

Happy New Year!
