I had not seen his, but now that I have....yes, you're right.
As for the brightness: although I like your darker version as well, I decided for my brightness because I didn't want the top right become too heavy.

Hi Marion, looking at the thumbnail, with the blue tone and the motion blur, I mistook this one for one from Thilo... Useless information, but it carries a lot of resemblance to his latest uploads.

Very good choice of tone, I find the cool hue and the perspective in this one very appealing. The thing that makes this shot for me is the way the escalator below (and the patterns in the floor, for that matter) breaks the prominent lower right - top left diagonal. Very good capture. The only thing I would consider is a slight reduction of brightness. A personal taste thing, though, and therefore only a minor difference...)
