LOL I love this fantastic capture! So funny, cool, interesting and great photo quality! Since you haven't included the whole reflection in water I would suggest more crop at bottom (and with that I guess also on top then) But even if you don't I still find it so GREAT!

Brilliant Dan, well worthy of adorning the front page as staff choice. Beautiful sharpness and a comical moment captured! Many, many thanks for your comment today. Every comment is helpful and worthwhile but when i get one from one of the "elite" (yourself) it really makes my day, and makes me think i'm getting somewhere.
Best wishes from Switzerland, Neil

Dan, Well done on your staff choice pick! This is a great capture. This is the one in a life time shot that probably couldn't be staged if you wanted it. Nice!!

Sean Jolly   {K:323} 5/18/2004
It's a funny coincidence that I was looking at this shot just yesterday thinking how brilliant it was. The depth of field, colours and sharpness are perfection in my opinion. There's not much more I can say because it's probably my favourite macro on this site, and the first shot to go in my favourites.

It's a shame you couldn't put it in four categories because I think it'd fit well in humour as well - it made me laugh.

Thank you very much for your comments. They were very encouraging for a beginner like myself. To see now that they came from such an accomplished photographer makes them even more so. (Nice to see a photo such as this taken with the camera I'd like to buy after a little more practice too).

Amy and Amna, The extension tube for the Canon 300D can be bought at B&H the one I use is from Kenko.
When you buy an extension tube dont spend a lot of money a cheap one is as good as an expensive one. All it is is a hollow tube with wire connections so your auto focus and exposure red properly. I pushes any lens you have further away from the camera body giving you more magnification . The beauty of the extension tube is that it makes all your lens into macro lenses.
You loose the ability to focus more that a few feet away though, but you can focus closer. The smaller the focal length the closer you can get.My 28mm focuses about a 1/2 inch away. You can stack extension tubes also kenko sells a 3 piece kit 12mm,24mm,36mm,the more you stack the more magnification. You do need more light the more you stack though. If you can only get one get the 24mm.
Hope this helps.
