Hi Cas, sorry for replying late. "Ghat" is what we call banks of a river where construction is done so that people can take bath.
In Hinduism when someone passes away, we burn the body..which is said to free the soul so that it can pass to next world. Varanasi as one of the oldest cities in India attracts lot of pilgrims all over India and they believe if one dies in varanasi it's good for their next life. So there are few "ghats" in Varasni where burning of dead bodies takes place and Manikarnika is supposedly the holiest of all :).

Thank you Subhranil. Eta F11 e tola. DOF niye narachara bolte ki bolle aktu bolbe? Benaras e surjasto ta as such khub akta sanghatik pawa jae na atleast ai somoy tai. Akash tai overexposed i hobe kichu korar chilo na..seta bw korar onno akta reason o bote. Nicher part take properly expose korte gele akash ke over hotei hoto :)
