Thanks for your replies.
Pete, maybe you have a point there. I think that happens because I put the text in part of the frame. I'll try next time if it looks better when I put the text below in a white frame, so it won't affect the photo in the way you felt it did. Thanks for the advice.

text is a funny thing to add to a photo...it becomes part of the compostion. I'll ask you, what do you see as you walk away from this image and see the text from afar....?
You want a more horizontal feel - something that flows with the photo, not against it.

This is so simple and so elegant. I like the extremely small strip of foreground with the tiny trees in the distance. It reminds me what a small place our world is when compared to the skies and the space that lies beyond. The feeling is similar to the one I get when I look up at the sky on a clear, starry night. The small streak of yellow amidst the red is nice.
