Oops. Forgot to give this a rating. Guess what I gave it! Unfortunately although I give it, yes, a "7" for "excellent" the usefilm weighting system usually devalues this to something less. Knowing this, I usually avoid giving ratings, but I just HAVE to give this one a top rating! This is the kind of photograph a "7" was created for.

This is a wonderful photograph! The concept and title go together beautifully, the depth of focus is perfectly calculated and the quality of the out-of-focus areas is delightfully smooth. I find high key very difficult even with film, and I know it is even more difficult with digital, where you are always a hair's breadth from burning out the highlights. Joel's recommendation of this for Photo of the Day brought me here and I endorse that most enthusiastically. One of the best I've seen recently on Usefilm. Do keep posting!

Outstanding b/w capture! (don't you just love that lens! ...i would keep it on there all the time if the damn were not so heavy!)
I love your balance of whites. The mid-tones are so well blended into the whites, that nothing takes your eye from the center. Great detail in the eyes and eye brows.
outstanding composition (ala Alfrd Hitchcock's portrait of himself)
This has a wonderful spring feel, and the light (natural?) is beautiful!
