Wow - thanks Kevin, i see you understand totally what i mean by minimal and complex at the same time. Thanks for seeing the fact that i intentionally made this darker to avoid the steps ....saved just a hint of them.... to get this more abstract.

Here's a good example of minimalism in a complex shot. You have a lot in the shot, but if flows because there is a movement in the line, a pattern. and you minimalized the 'busy-ness' of the shot by making the exposure dark enough to not see all the steps. That's kind of similar to what I was talking about in my "Bastille of light" image.
but great job with this shot, it looks fantastic!

Hi Jeanette....I know what you mean about time. At my age I try to keep it slow but these days it seems like 24 hours only lasts about 12!!

Dear Jeanette,
Time is relative but we're simply too busy nowadays.
If you try to put 48 hours in a day, logical you get too few hours of sleep.
Talking about sleep this one reminds me of a dream, maybe you know what I mean:
{ the earth is disappearing under your feet and you're falling into something bottomless. }
...................................... And then you wake up in the middle of the night ;--))

Jeann, you can easily add up as much as 24 hours to your day traveling west with a speed of earth spin and than stop before passing the day change line. This is simple earth level trick, but moving fast close to the speed of light you can slow the time down much more. So you have choices.
Your spiral swirls down to hell and up to heavens. Great geometric forms and very attractive off centered layout, perfect lights and contrast. I'm taking the vortex up. Outstanding.

Jeanette, the answer, give 110% DURING THE 1ST 24 hrs then PERMIT yourself not to care about the the other 24. Remember my dear in the end we are only judged on the 1st 24 hrs of each day! Carpe diem, which apparently you do anyway. By the way Tremendous capture, the exposure and composition here are really compelling. Keep shooting shots like this, they are very inspiring!
