Actually, Len, it is interesting that you mentioned the lack of anyone sitting here. I took a couple of shots of this...one as you see it and the other of my sister sitting on the bench. There was really no question which made for the better composition. I glad that you recognized that! Thanks for your comments!

But it's lucky no one was actually sitting there when you shot this - absence of human figures has made all the difference to this beautiful scene. Nicely done.

Sarah, I completely agree that Douglas misinterpreted your positive comments on his critique. Sometimes (often maybe?) it is very hard through this medium to convey subtleties of mood, of humour, of tone and intent. I hope all is made up and pleasant now between you two. Regards, Anthony

Thanks Gayle...I appreciate the feedback!
As far as the orange in the frame goes...I have had this ready to go for a while now. If I had taken a closer look before sending it off I would have changed the frame. I totally agree with your suggestion and should have redone it. Darn! Oh well...next time!

Nothing nicer, Kathy, than to sit and watch the sun go down ~ preferably with a loved one!
Beautiful shot.
Best regards, Chris
P.S. I'm still not a cat lover! And we will never EVER own one! ) I just happen to catch the one I snapped on someone else's wall.

Hi, great eye for composing,Kathy!...all of the elements come together well here, the color is gorgeous and the contrast level is spot on...just my opinion, but ditch the orange border,or make it very thin, and you are good to go !;>
Must be a lot of fun going with your sister to shoot...regards,gayle Thanks for coms to me as appreciate the feedback...

Hi Doug,
Thank you so much for your comment! I agree (now that I look at it again) that the orange canvas is too wide. I wish I would have done that differently. I also went back to check on the "dust". Darn!!! I missed that, and DEFINITELY would have taken that out. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!
Sorry about the misunderstanding in Sarah's comment. As she said, we are good friends and I understood completely what she was saying...that you had done such a good job of critiqueing that there was nothing left to say.
Anyway...I'm off to check out your portfolio!
Thanks again...Kathy

Whoa! So pretty...much better without the goon on the bench! (Me):) Looks like a little storm started brewing here. Oh well, it's so easy to misread words. I love it, Sarah loves it and Douglas loves it along with everyone else. Nice job. It's gor-ge-ous!

This is a very good capture. I like the partually silhouetted bench and the branch and the way they frame the sun. Well done.

Sarah,

Your Comment and how you worded it were Perfect.
I think Douglas misread it.
There was nothing abusive about it. I also think He should have email you Directly instead of bringing it into Kathy's AWESOME SUNSET!

Her Photograph deserves all the attention and respect we can give it. It is that Good.
A person Can Wait a Life time to see a Beautiful Sunset like the one she was fortunate to witness first hand. Kathy You Hit a Winner here on every level.
Sarah, There wasn't anything wrong with you comment. Douglas...Re-Read Sarahs comment then Send her an appology for the embarrassment you cause her for your handling of the situation.

Kathy, I have to say. in the short few months I have been viewing yours and your sisters Photos.
You both have gotten tremendously better in every fasset. Keep up the good work and Have a great day!

Douglas Coffey,

I prefer you had e-mailed me directly first prior to your decision. Kathy Hillard is a good friend of mine and the content and intention of the comment was out of due respect. Please reread it again. The intention was that you had took the words right out of my mouth and your critique had honestly summed everything up about Mrs. Hillard's photo (meaning it was good). I apologize for the misunderstanding. I have nothing but respect for this website and everyone associated with it. I would hope that this is reflected among all the other comments that I have placed on other's photos. I also hope that the rest of the community understands my position. Thank you.

Dear Sara Lazar,

Because of an email sent to me about your comment I have marked it as ABUSIVE and have also placed a comment about it in one of the current forums.

I do NOT appreciate such commentary at all when I have tried my best for three years now to offer the best possible critiques that I can pro & con!

Dear Kathy,

The composition of the branch in the upper lefthand corner and the bench in the lower righthand corner is absolutely perfect in their diagonal directions with the minimal simplistic sunset and it's light shining straight through vertically is enchanting indeed!

The clarity of this inviting situation as proposed by the title of this splendid image is immaculate also!

The iner border color that you have chosen although is a bit too broad in pixel width and there is a spot of white light or something underneath the bench which needed to be dusted out.

All-in-all ... a very pleaseant scene and photograph which invited my singular audience to 'Come and Sit A Spell' ...

Thanks for sharing and Best of Regards!
