blue heron??? never think that it is white in immature colors. Very well done, as usual, and thanks for learning us this fact.

Beautiful bird. I really love the way the background blurred it's a great effect with the sharp focus of the bird. 10+

Darlene,
Splendid! The exposure and detail are right on. I'm still having problems with my backyard bird photograph, so I really can appreciate your wonderful photographs.

Darlene,

I took a ride in the direction of Manchac, but the road is still under water. I'm free this thursday if the weather holds up, but I'm not afraid of a little rain. There wasn't a bird in site at my usual drive by, they must be at the shelters in Houston with everyone else.
Let me know what you think

Joe.

I took this one from the window of my car using a beanbag. During the spring and early summer at Lake Martin, I usually set up the tripod, but I went out to the Lake late Sunday afternoon and just shot from the car. Thanks Dave. Darlene

Very nice shot, Darlene, especially with the well exposed detail in his white feathers. Do you work from a blind or just hide in the brush?
Dave.

Wow Darlene, not what I would of thought an immature Blue would look like. I have never seenon, but you know whatI mean. Great capture and super detail. I'm sure you would of wished for a little better light;) but I imagine the immatures are probably pretty well back in the shade.
