absolutely, i'll give you plenty of warning ;^) a meeting sounds like a good idea too. my schedule through the end of the year is very busy and not quite firm datewise yet. all i know is utah next week and arizona all of december. probably to la-la-land once or twice as well. nailing me down for a meeting will be tough until january or so. i'll see what my week looks like and let you know tomorrow.

Tom, you name it, I'll be available. Can I go to Utah with you:)(jealous)Just give me a day or so notice so I can advise the wife of what I am going to be doing. (They tend to take it kind of the wrong way when you pop on them at the last minute that you are going to shoot pictures with a photo friend instead of spending time with them. Since I'm out of town 5 days a week, I owe that much to her at least;)

Jim

PS: Maybe we could do another VA meeting in the VA beach area in the next month or so. Migration season is coming as well as late fall color shots. Let me know.

Hi Tom, everything is good. Sold the restaurant and am doing some freelance consulting. Which is why I was in Norfolk. No problem getting a shot of the battleship as it is located at a place called Nauticas right in downtown Norfolk. It has been retired and is a tourist attraction, so photo's are no problem. Actually, I never paid and boarded the ship (which I plan to do before I leave here) this shot was taken right off the sidewalk.

Let me know if you can get some time off and venture a few hours from home (VA Beach) I would love to spend a day or so with you and just shoot, shoot, shoot;) There are some nice areas around here and the season is changing, should be some good photo op's around and I do hva a VA guide to the area.

jim, i love it! what a great perspective this is. i've been dreaming (literally) of a similar shot/perspective so i have to ask: how on earth did you get into the shipyard with a camera??

how've you been, btw? long time no see. hope all is well.

take care,
tom

Jim,

Well done indeed. This piece of glass is very sharp, as well. I could have swore you used at least f/16 on this 1...

The Canon L glass is a bit pricey for me at this point, but I will have to put on my list...

Keep up the great work,

Martin
